I really enjoy this book, particularly the section that deals with adolescence. My favorite story is probably Araby. I'd read it once before in high school, but I think a reread of abook always helps someone to give a more definite review on what they thought of something and I had to read it for class. I really like Joyce's prose and style here, although I've heard it's quite different in Ulysses. This is a really good book to study in a college class, because then you will learn more about the narrative structure and the progression of the stories as a whole. It adds a lot to one's understanding of the stories. Some of the stories are more allegorical about Irish history, and I can't honestly say that those were my favorite out of the collection.I'm actually thinking of writing on essay about women and the city in Dubliners, but we'll see how that works out. At any rate I think my reading of this book will become further enhnaced by my visit to Dublin. **EDIT**I did wind up writing the paper, and it turned out really well. If you want to know more about it, ask me :)
